Zain Ahmed is Co-founder and Director of Tessa Alliance and a private health insurance specialist with experience in the UK private medical insurance industry dating back to December 2014. His career spans advising individuals and families, managing teams of insurance advisers, and co-founding and running a health insurance brokerage.
Today, Zain leads Tessa Alliance’s team of researchers and health insurance specialists. He also personally writes many of the website’s private health insurance guides, drawing on more than a decade of practical industry experience.
His career in private medical insurance
Zain began his career in private medical insurance at Usay Compare in December 2014 as a Sales Consultant, before progressing to Sales Manager. He later worked as an Insurance Broker at Heath Crawford.
Working directly with customers and later managing teams of advisers gave Zain an understanding of the questions and concerns people have when choosing health insurance, alongside experience supporting advisers in explaining cover clearly.
These experiences helped shape his approach to private health insurance, with an emphasis on clear communication, personal guidance and attentive customer service.
Co-founding Tessa Alliance
In January 2023, Zain co-founded Tessa Alliance with the aim of building a health insurance brokerage centred on clear explanations, transparency and personal service.
As Co-founder and Director, he oversees the day-to-day running of the business. Alongside these responsibilities, Zain continues to speak directly with customers, helping individuals and families understand their options and consider cover suited to their needs and budget.
